Sober St. Patrick’s Day NYCIf you’re looking for some family-friendly fun to celebrate St. Paddy’s Day, head to Long Island City where the New York Irish Center will feature world-class musicians, singers, and more. The Irish Center is where all of New York’s Irish come to gather and every year host the Sober St. Patrick’s party. For only $20 a ticket, celebrate the day with Jerry O’Sullivan on Uilleann pipes, Alexander Weir on fiddle, Alice Breda Ryan of Sean Nos Dance, and Fee Sisters musicians. The Irish Comedy TourFor some good old-natured fun, head to Queens the weekend before the parade and laugh the night away at Queensborough Community College’s performing arts center. For $40 admission, you’ll get to enjoy musicians and comedians in this one-night-only event. QPAC will transform into an Irish pub with beer offered to add to the fun atmosphere. Each of the five men of the Irish Comedy Tour will have you cracking up all night long with their good humor and Celtic tunes.
Whisky Wars Factory TourHead to the Brooklyn Navy Yard where a special St. Patrick’s Day edition of the Whiskey Wars factory tour will be offered. Hosted by both BLDG 92 and the Kings County Distillery, the tour will tell you all about the days of moonshine and the scandals that arose in the 19th century. You’ll get a tasting of some real moonshine from the distillery and you’ll get to see the Brooklyn Navy Yard in action. You won’t be disappointed with this special tour!
